The bill is based on false premise. The areas that the bloor-university-yonge bike network goes through has as much as 20% of work trips completed by bike. This doesn't include non-work bike trips for errands, medical appointments, and most crucially, children going to school.
I would ask the province to consider how many dead children it is willing to accept so that people in cars can use these routes more freely.
If side streets are fine alternatives for cycling, then route car traffic through residential neighborhoods.
