This is a serious overreach of provincial authority. The people of Toronto elected a city government with a mandate to expand the bike lane network. The provincial government constantly interferes in municipal affairs, contrary to the desires of the people who live in those municipalities. It is not the role of the province to force municipal policy decisions when they disagree with the province's opinions.
The fact the lanes to be removed constitute the Premier's drive to work isn't lost on anybody.
