Yes, let's ignore the positive impact of bike lanes and less traffic experienced in the rest of the world, and strive to go back to a mythical past where more highways and more cars promised a better life. "Getting there faster" is not synonymous with a better life, rather the opposite.
Bike travel leads to better health and lower health care costs, and less frenzied citizens.
More highways have always led to more cars on the road, requiring more highways etc.
The province needs trains, not roads.
Take a break, visit Europe, travel by rail between cities in a flash, stay relaxed meanwhile.
Luckily, there's always an election around the corner!
