To whom it may concern,
The provincial government should not be adding red tape and bureaucracy to slow down local governments that are working to expand transportation options. I use bike lanes every day and consider them essential transportation infrastructure—just like sidewalks.
We need to prioritize safety and provide options for vulnerable road users, rather than simply maximizing the number of cars on the road. As a driver, I’d much rather see cyclists safely in their own bike lanes than sharing the road. Bike lanes also support public transit investments by making it easier for people to reach transit stations.
I strongly support safe bike infrastructure.
