All this would do is force cyclists onto the regular lanes, making things worse and more unsafe. We won't just disappear with the lanes you know. We have places we need to go and our mode of transport is what's affordable. I can't see this as anything more than an ego piece to seem like one is doing something helpful for society, to justify staying in office.
