I am vehemently OPPOSED to the removal of any bike lanes. In fact, I believe we need MORE bike lanes and a more robust transit system to complement them.
Bike lanes are NOT to blame for traffic congestion and any removal of bike lines only puts people at risk of being injured or losing their lives. I have two young kids and I don’t have a car. I depend on these bike lanes to commute and to keep me and my kids safe.
Also, as we look for ways to lower emissions (climate change is real) - encouraging people to bike is not only a healthy alternative to driving, it is also healthy for the planet.
