The proposed changes are too restrictive for many cities in northern Ontario. The boundaries for bait to cross into different districts is far too strict for the region and causes problems for travelling to nearby lakes with live bait. While some of the new regulations may be effective in southern Ontario, they are not very helpful in northern Ontario, where there are far fewer problems. I would not even be able to go to my camp (only a couple of hours away) without crossing a barrier so I would need to drive multiple hours further just to buy live bait. This is not a solution that would benefit anyone in the north, or truly impact the environment in positive ways as it could only in southern Ontario, where a large portion of bait is from the lower great lakes where the real problems occur.
