Incentivizing Ontarians to drive by removing bike lanes with not improve traffic; it will have the inverse effect. And in a climate emergency, it is a terrible idea to begin with.
I have lived in Midtown Toronto for over a decade, and even though I have not used the bike lanes, they are vastly better than the extra car lane in terms of streetscape, noise levels, and general enjoyment of the area.
If Premier Ford cares so much about municipal matters in Toronto, I encourage him to run for municipal office and stop attacking local democracy.
