I am opposed to the removal of Toronto bike lanes even though I am not a cyclist and I live in central Etobicoke. No city of Toronto’s size anywhere in the world can rely on cars as the way a majority or even a large minority of the population commutes to the city centre. There are too many people for this to work without constant gridlock. Therefore, all efforts to reduce congestion should be focussed on making it easier for people to travel on foot, by bike or on public transit. Finishing the Eglinton and Finch LRT lines would be a good start.
