To the Premier and Minister of Transportation
I am against the removal of bikes lanes. Bike lanes are important for safety and community.
It would be irresponsible to spend dollars to remove the lanes when we have province wide issues with health care and public transit.
Below the Bloor, Yonge and University roadways, is a subway system that runs in each direction every few minutes. Drivers should be encouraged to make use of public transit.
Along the Bloor roadway, all the speed limits were reduced by 10kph. This reduction in speed also contributes to drive times.
The data that you Government keeps citing is data that predates COVID. This is bad data, and the only worse than no data, is bad data.
I am a driver and a cyclist and the bike lanes are safer for all concerned. Please don't touch them.
