I am not in favour of this Act. We have paid for these bike lanes, in time, money and resources. To rip out the bike lanes now would be a complete waste of more time and more money, as well as creating more waste.
Creating safe lanes for bicycles to travel is necessary to encourage more individuals to choose cycling which will lead to freeing up the vehicle congestion. (Additionally, these lanes are situated where it is also possible for an individual to access the TTC and then rent a city bike to commute or travel around Toronto.)
Perhaps going forward bike lanes can be done on secondary roads instead of main avenues.
The future for Toronto and Ontario is to reduce vehicles and vehicle use where possible. Having bike lanes is essential to move forward towards that future.
