Many of the people I interact with in the city are unable to afford cars. Most bike as an alternative. Of these, I only know of one of them who has not been in an accident with a vehicle. I cannot imagine what would happen to these injury rates if bike lanes were to be removed. What a waste of time and resources to process this proposal in a city already suffering from the effects of too many cars on the road. Everyone I have spoken with in my community agrees that the bike lanes should remain as they are.
