This is an absurd proposal. The safety of people should be considered AND the environmental impacts of using cars above the time it takes someone to drive their car. It is so dangerous for cyclists in the city on roads without bike lanes. If anyone in the Ministry had ever cycled in the city then they would know this.
I cycle on the city roads every day to do what I can for the environment and not use a car (and to stay fit and save money). Why aren’t we embracing bike lanes, encouraging more people to use bikes and bike lanes to cycle safely and to help improve the wellness of people in the city (by staying fit)?
Please reconsider these proposals to get rid of the bike lanes.
