The White Pines project was approved on sound technical principals and safety standards. It is hard to believe that those principals have changed when a new government has taken over.
Projects like this help to put diversification into the energy generation grid. Their implementation is dependent upon adequate Return On Investment as provided by the FIT program. Feed in tarrifs are not grants but provide ROI based upon actual performance.
As an operator of a small solar panel system, the FIT concept is necessary for renewable energy project viability and a LONG TERM robust Ontario generation system.
When is the current government going to have a viable energy policy and a user pay carbon concept to meet our international obligations. Right now we just don't stack up relative to the Europeans in engineering, science and environmental policies.
