Hello,
I’m strongly opposed to closing down of the White Pines Wind Project.
This project is in the last stage of construction with four of the turbines already completed. Once live, they could have provided enough clean energy to power over 3,000 homes.
The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) predicted that Ontario will start seeing electricity shortages during peak summer periods starting in 2023 and continuing thereafter. The report also forecasts shortages during peak winter usage from 2025 to 2028.
Ontario needs to switch to renewable energy sources and away from burning fossil fuels to stop further pollution of out environment and acceleration of disastrous climate change. This installation is a small step in that direction and cancelling is myopic and unscrupulous.
Let the White Pines Wind Project be completed.
Thank you
