I was deeply saddened and annoyed at the decision to close the White Pines project. It appears that this decision is taken purely to satisfy campaign promises rather than any real need. The extent to which wind energy is being embraced by countries who lead our world speaks to the importance of wind energy in our future.
Climate change is a reality and our provincial government's position on green energy should demonstrate their understanding that green infra-structure is a necessity for its legacy to future generations.
On the business side of greening, how can it be supported that a project of this magnitude can be closed down when it went forward on government approval.Surely the future needs of the province have not changed in the course of the last six months. What message does this send to future investors?
Ontario is open for business unless we change our mind...
The fact that this project is ready to provide another link in the chain to energy self-sufficiency and has
been halted speaks to a belief that this government takes no responsibility for the future of the province. A very sad day indeed.
