As an Ontario tax payer I DO NOT support Bill 212.
It is a waste of money.
It removes important, life saving infrastructure - both for cyclists who use it and as a strategy to mitigate climate change.
It goes against ALL EVIDENCE - this will do nothing to curb gridlock. Experts at Ontario universities have studied this and are providing alternatives. The province should be guided by current evidence.
Cycling removes cars from the roads. Investments in more cycling infrastructure is a better use of funds. Also need more money for public transit and the opening of the Eglinton crosstown and other routes.
As a mother, I want my children to have a save modes of transport including cycling.
It negates local government. The province should not be involved in municipal decisions from duly elected governments.
