This proposal is ludicrous and not rooted in any evidence. The trend AROUND the WORLD is to increase cycling and other sustainable transportation infrastructure and reduce dependence on single occupancy vehicular traffic. This is rooted in evidence, both of transportation efficiency as well as environmental sustainability.
Actually removing bike lanes in Toronto will only result in more traffic delays and then also endanger the lives of cyclists, it WILL not reduce gridlock.
