The city should not be designed for car dominance. Urbanists and city dwellers have collectively learned this decades ago. Removing existing bike lanes is a mistake, moving Toronto backwards rather than into the future. Bike lanes are a green and cheap way to get around the city. City residents should not have to lose an amenity and convenience in the name of commuters who do not even live here.
Removing new infrastructure is a WASTE OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS. Removing existing bike lanes and creating MORE red tape for introducing new ones is yet another poor decision from Doug Ford’s provincial government. Shameful excuse for leadership
