This proposal represents breathtaking overreach by the province and is wrong on many fronts:
-how can the provincial government claim to know better than municipalities how to manage local traffic? Where are the studies on what mix of transportation modes works best?
-in what century should a major change to infrastructure be exempt from environmental assessment?
-how could it be right to force the Toronto taxpayer to pay to rip out infrastructure we paid for ?
-why not focus attention on the developers who block whole lanes of traffic on major arteries for years and inconvenience pedestrians and cyclists who are trying to do what’s right for our shared futures?
