I'm a lifelong resident of Toronto who has never biked (I usually walk and sometimes drive).
I am strongly against the removal of the bike lanes because I feel much safer while driving when the bikes are separated and as a pedestrian I don't want them on the sidewalks.
I am very worried that this proposed change to remove the bike lanes will make things more dangerous for everyone while providing little, if any, benefit.
By far, the biggest impediment I have while driving is the amount of parked cars out there, as well as left turning vehicles blocking streetcars. I don't understand why on-street parking is allowable on any major street yet bikes are being targeted instead.
