This bill won’t save anyone any time, but anyone paying attention knows that’s not the point. If this was actually about reducing gridlock, you would be looking at reducing the number of people who choose to drive when they don’t have to. You could also explore eliminating on-street parking which serves fewer people per hour than any bike lane. But at least this bill makes clear what this government stands for: wasting public money and stoking conflict between groups to gain a few votes (in an unnecessary early election).
