I am commenting on Preliminary Draft Management Plan for the new Uxbridge Urban Park as a concerned equestrian. We ride regularly and respectfully in those forests and have for years.
I am referring specifically to the need for manure bag use.
The idea of a "poop bag" required for horses is a dangerous and unreasonable ask. Many horses will spook and throw their riders with something banging behind them. This is nature. Horse manure is good for the environment.
Do not allow the uninformed opinions of those who have never ridden before attempt to enforce rules that will force riders to not use our lands in the historical ways we always have.
If a little bit of "manure" might upset new urban users, think how much more upsetting bolting horses and injured humans on the trails might be.
Thank you.
