This proposal, to dump overflow untreated storm sewer water and waste directly into Lake Ontario makes no sense at all.
Doing this sets back all the efforts to clean up the lake. It sets back all the Western Beaches measures. Surely this proposal violates the clean water standards for the City and the Great Lakes!
This Proposal must be quashed.
If a storm water system is required, there must be holding tanks for the overflow, and then a means to treat the overflow waste (to the same standards as waste water treatment plants) before allowing it into the waters of Lake Ontario.
