The traffic congestion at Black Creek and Lawrence is currently unacceptable. The existing road network surrounding this intersection was never designed to deal with the current vehicle load. Adding several thousand more commuters to this intersection will paralyze the entire area. The negative environmental impact on air quality from idling vehicles will be substantial. The increased noise pollution will also be substantial. This will result in an overall reduction in the quality of life for nearby residents on both sides of Black Creek Drive and Lawrence, not to mention the wasted hours lost for drivers in cues on all four sides of this intersection. This will ultimately reduce the desirability of living and working in this area and will reduce property values. Why should nearby property owners suffer financially for the sake of this development. This government office should be protecting the thousands of taxpayer residents and existing shops and businesses in the area, not one developer for their private interests.
