The current approach to Endangered Species is required and acts as a conscious step to prevent acts of harm, intended or unintended. Bypassing due diligence and conscious decision making damages our ecosystem which we are part of, not separate from.
An example of folly is the paving of the wetlands - the "sponges" of the environment - that has led to the seasonal flooding of the DVP. Everyone and everything is harmed in these acts from the water itself, the animals, birds, plants of the wetland, the surrounding flooded environment, the motorists and the embarrassed Torontonians who allowed this to happen.
I appeal to wisdom, science, respect in the face of scrooge-like greed.
