As an archaeologist in the province of Ontario, I find it interesting that this administration is so focused on rebuilding the economy when the pockets of our chief administrator seem to get heavier and heavier. It is well studied and well understood that the only thing trickle down economics does is benefit the rich. Gutting the ESA and making it easier to develop is NOT going to benefit anyone but the developers. I want my children to understand biodiversity. I want my children to grow up with a connection to the land that we all live on and this Bill will ensure that never happens.
Additionally this administration is supposed to be responsible for upholding indigenous ideologies, treaties, and heritage. This Bill will decimate any idea that that responsibility is anything but a facetious falsehood. We already know that the administration disrespects the land but to disrespect the stewards and the people that were here before colonizers is a disgrace.
