As an expert in this field with two degrees in Environmental Management and Conservation, I know unequivocally that Bill 5 must be stopped. It would be detrimental to our economy and the well-being of all Ontarians now and into the future.
Healthy wetlands, forests and ecosystems are crucial to the Ontarian economy. Furthermore, they make our province resilient to extreme weather events, saving us countless lives—and yes, money.
Furthermore, we are in a global biodiversity crisis, and in the midst of a long-term truth and reconciliation process with Indigenous peoples. We have a moral imperative to protect Ontarian species at risk, and to hold up our obligations to respect Indigenous sovereignty.
CANCEL BILL 5. For our children, our ecosystem, and our economy.
Don’t prioritize your buddies in development over my children.
