Revoking the requirement for a comprehensive Environmental Assessment (EA) through Bill 5 undermines the rights of Dresden residents to have a voice in major industrial decisions that directly affect our town’s future. Our municipality has clearly and unanimously opposed this project through Council motions and community engagement. Skipping the EA process not only ignores that collective decision—it erodes public trust in the democratic planning process. A full EA is our only tool to participate meaningfully in decisions that will affect our land, water, air, and quality of life for generations.
