I strongly support extending the moratorium on water bottling permits. Furthermore, there should be no permits increased, and no new permits issued, ever again. Water is our most precious resource, and we should not be allowing private corporations to be extracting the resource for their profit - at great detriment to our population and the environment in which we live.

The amount of money that corporations pay for the right to extract our water is a pittance, it does not even remotely cover the short term and long term damage to our communities. It is absolutely disgusting that a company, Nestle, for example, is allowed to plunder our most precious resource with impunity, while communities struggle to access clean drinking water, farmland suffers increasing drought due to climate change, and the flora and fauna of our remaining forests are damaged irreparably.
