Bravo to the Honorable Ted…

Bravo to the Honorable Ted Hsu, MPP who has posted the letter he is sending to the Integrity Commissioner of Ontario to investigate Doug Ford and 3 of his ministers in connection with Bill 5 which contains the exemption for York1 having to do a complete EA prior to commencing a reopening of a DORMaNT landfill 800 meters from Dresden. Bravo to his integrity, honesty and perseverance to do what is right for Dresden, Walpole Island First Nations and the surrounding community. Bravo for him to stand up for the people of Dresden who live in Ontario and want to continue to live in a clean, safe and wholesome community…free of dangerous fumes, pollution, hordes of trucks and financial insecurity especially in regards to home values. Bravo for him To ask for an investigation on a situation where money and greed could be the true reason behind the EA exemption proposal and NOT the well-being and lives of the people of Ontario.
I am also SO grateful to the Walpole Island First Nations Chief Leela Thomas, her Band members and the Dresden CARED representatives including Board Chair Stefan Premdas who went to Toronto and presented the facts of this situation at the Legislative Assembly Press conference at Queen’s Park. Thank you for voicing all our concerns.
Plain and simple….reopening a dormant landfill and creating a mega dump is wrong wrong wrong and an EA will show that. It is also wrong wrong wrong to even think a complete EA is not necessary.
