I strongly oppose the implementation of these changes. These are reckless and unnecessary changes to an important Act that protects our precious biodiversity in Ontario. These species that could be lost due to a lack of protections can never been recovered again. We want to build more housing, infrastructure, highways, etc. but aren't considering that we need the farmland, bees, various trees and grasses, etc. to help feed all the people in these houses and on the highways and keep the air clean for them. Building for the sake of building, and bulldozing through all the existing regulations is not the way to solve the multiple economic crises we are facing. We need creative solutions to protect our environment while also addressing the economic crises. Increasing density, converting industrial zones, improving public transport, etc. are all options to make changes without destroying what remaining habitats exist. Please reconsider these changes and go back to the drawing board to find alternative solutions. The future of Ontario is at stake.
