I am vehemently opposed to the proposed dump (landfill) for many reasons. Farmland is irreplaceable, and in limited supply. If this landfill is approved no tomatoes, onions, sugar beets, wheat, oats, corn, potatoes, strawberries, raspberries, hay, etc. will ever again grow in this area.
The huge volume of trucks will not only pollute the air, but will be a danger to school buses, children, bikers, walkers and drivers. Not to mention the damage to the roads.
The huge size of this proposed project will be a danger to the water aquafir (underground water) which supplies drinking water to some of the area residents, as some of the residents of Chatham-Kent are not supplied with purified water to drink.
To protect my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the generations to come, this landfill should NOT be allowed.
