The ideas in this proposal are short-sighted and will cause irreparable harm to Ontario’s environment. Removing the protections for endangered species and allowing development without a process for accountability is not the direction we should be heading as a province. I’m really concerned for the future, that Ontario will not be a place to grow in a healthy environment. Unleashing development is choosing to ignore the valuable ecosystems and biodiversity we all rely on in order to survive.
It makes me sick that this awful government only got in again because so many people didn’t vote because they were unaware of the election. You aren’t being given a free pass to just tear apart this province. Other people who didn’t want this government also live here, as do other living creatures who don’t have a say in this human-made society. Who is going to protect them? That’s the whole point of the endangered species act. Please re-think the terrible ideas in this proposal. Don't give developers a free pass. The whole point of government is to have rules for things and to protect the areas that need protection.
