I'm a Canadian who lives in Ontario and am shocked by Bill 5 and strongly opposed to it. It's an irresponsible and shameful proposal that essentially removes all meaningful regulation, protection and accountability on development from multiple perspectives - environmental, labour, and more. This will have massive negative impacts. We've already seen and continue to see environmental damage globally with real, direct harm on Canadians and Ontarians, not to mention our families and friends around the world. We must prioritize a safe and liveable future. That means focusing on long-term sustainability for our society and the world in which we live, not short-sighted profits for corporations. Bill 5 is designed for the latter, and a danger.
