I spent my childhood growing up in nature, spending my summers running through the forest. I had the opportunity to take school trips to conservation areas and learn about the species that call Ontario home, the fragile web that connects us, and the work that is being done to understand them better. I know how important those experiences were as I swelter in the city, listening to the sounds of year round construction. I must agree with Nature Canada and express my most sincere objections to the proposed changes. We need MORE checks and balances on development, not fewer. Our green spaces are precious and deserve to be protected, not just for the nature they harbour, but for the well being of the humans who live here too.
