The proposed legislation guts environmental protections while favouring a wild west system where we will not know what is going on or who will be effected until after serious torts have been committed. It is reckless for this government to enact this legislation under the guise of "red tape reduction" and jump-starting a lackluster housing sector that is seriously deffecient in building standards and quality, yet somehow retaining top dollar value. It is incumbent on this government to uphold its treaty obligations to protect the land and water; they are presently failing in both execution and vision.
