There are countless ways in which Bill 5 will allow for disaster decisions made in haste that trample the inherent rights of Indigenous peoples and endanger the natural ecosystem. Please do not follow through with this under the guise of supporting Canada in the face of Trump. This Bill is exactly the kind of thing Trump is doing and we claim to be different!!!
I am sure the government does not need reminding of all the ways in which this will bring such harm to our environment but here are a few things to consider: we are in a global biodiversity crisis with over 230 plants and animals at risk in Ontario. Healthy forests, waters and wetlands are crucial to our survival too! Regulation-free zones for industry threaten the natural world upon which we depend. We need strong Endangered Species Act or else we will be one ourselves!!!
