At its core, Bill 5 asks us to trade irreplaceable biodiversity for private profit. That is an immoral bargain. Every species lost is a loss to our collective heritage, to future generations, and to the balance of life on this land. No economy can survive on a dying planet. We need legislation that reflects care, justice, and responsibility. Bill 5 does the opposite. I will not be supporting this bill or any government who passes it.
