The current framework and approach to the protection and conservation of species at risk is complicated. This statement is true, because species at risk and there conservation is complicated. These species face daily and yearly challenges due to development and urban expansion. There conservation and the continuation of these species is reliant on these complex and time consuming processes as that is what is necessary to conserve these species and there habitat. The species at risk act should not be altered or changed in any way, especially to aid in the further degradation of Ontario's natural areas for the sake of housing developments or transit corridors. The development of these has been doing fine with the current species at risk framework as can be seen be the rapid expansion of the GTA and surrounding areas.
There is no such thing as a "unnecessary delay or cost for housing, transit, and critical infrastructure" when these delays and costs are designed for the overall health and conservation of our rapidly disappearing resources.
This should be be considered further.
