I am writing to express my complete disapproval for Bill 5. I live in Toronto and am currently a student at the University of Toronto, and I care about my future and that of future generations. This is why I cannot support this bill.

I know this bill would limit legal accountability of the government and corporations in the special economic zones. I know it will now not be up to scientists to determine what counts as an endangered species. I know that this will muffle the voices of Indigenous peoples. I know that it will not necessarily even help the trade war, considering it may take a decade to build things like the mines anyhow.

Respectfully, I know I and many young people will not stand for this. Amend these portions of the bill, scrap it, or prepare for a lot of pushback.
