At no point do the regulatory protections to Ontario's flora, fauna, and waterways hinder or endanger Ontario's economic potential. It is a demonstration of poor insight and corporate greed to endanger the flourishing and sustainability of Ontario's wild places. We are not protecting ourselves from any economic threat by weakening the carrying capacity for already threatened habitats.
I implore all leaders and decision makers in the Ontario government to act with integrity and ingenuity. We are capable of creating a strong economy and an accessible standard of living by protecting forests, wetlands, and grasslands. The Government of Ontario must work closely with Indigenous communities, uphold the Treaties, and adhere to the knowledge and expertise of economists and urban planners who are ecologically literate, in order to create and maintain a thriving Ontario.
