The natural environment is the foundation that allows our economy to exist here in Ontario. Removing protections and the ability to enforce those protections will allow the destruction of wildlife habitat and the biodiversity needed to have an economy to support the lives and well being of all who live here.
Bill 5 is a betrayal to our democratic freedom. Special Economic Zones will be designated parts of Ontario where lawlessness is allowed. The Ontario government knows this or there would be no need to include a bar on legal proceedings connected to these matters. The authoritarian bulldozing of our environmental protections is not going to protect the economy of Ontario. It is a dismantling of the responsibility the Ontario government owes to the people of Ontario. Repeal Bill 5, or continue this dictatorship and the path toward Ontario becoming one huge radioactive garbage dump.
