I am deeply concerned about…

I am deeply concerned about the proposed bill to create fast tracked economic zones in Ontario as a way of bypassing environmental “red tape”. We must protect our natural resources & our green spaces. We need more accountability and stronger protections for these areas … not less. I speak as a teacher and mother of 4. I raised my kids with an awareness that they are part of the natural world, not separate from it. To quote Robin Wall Kimmerer “All Flourishing is Mutual”. It is particularly disturbing to note that this bill is being passed for the gain of wealthy individuals & corporations. It’s reminiscent of the Greenbelt scandal all over again. It’s very disheartening that our leadership in Ontario is prepared to sacrifice the long term health of the environment for short term economic gains.
