This Hamilton project has been planned for years, and the project was going ahead until CN objected with a maybe someone in the future would complain about their shunting yard, which is blocks away and masked by being below grade. For years, residents living near the tracks never complained. Why would they in the future?
The need for housing is necessary, and a frivolous maybe complaint is ridiculous.
The site is an eyesore with vandals, graffiti, fires, and thieves.
An order must be issued to demolish the site and make it safe.
