How is water permit transfer honoring Canadians what with climate change and our country burning down at all fair?
We can't just blanket, 'this company has priviledges forever' ideologies. First it will force corporations to look at R and D with a different lens, and force ingenuity.
In the permit, maybe there should be a line item that says 'how do you plan on reducing your water needs in the future?' and assess what their answer is? Maybe it will become obvious that they need to encompass more water capturing... have machinery in place to screen out say gray water, to make it useable in their technologies.
But just passing on water permits is a lazy and unacceptable way to manage water on behalf of Canadians... ESPECIALLY with the current price attached to per 1,000,000 litres. Golf courses especially need to be paying more. They are not creating food for people, its a leisure activity and they should pay accordingly.
