Environmental Impacts
1. Loss of Ecosystem:
Ponds support wildlife, birds, amphibians, and aquatic plants.
Destroying a pond means eliminating a valuable natural habitat.
2. Water Table Disruption:
Quarrying can lower the water table and affect nearby wells and underground water sources.
It may cause drying of nearby wetlands, streams, or other ponds.
