My comment is regarding the safe keeping of the natural landscape and ecosystems, and the true environmental impact this tourism boost will have on the land. Who is being consulted to ensure habitats are not being destroyed simply for capital profit. Why are the beach lands being transferred? Why not simply develop the city in the city core whilst not obstructing the natural environment of the beaches. These areas are already susceptible to volatile users who disrupt or do not take care of the land they use. We should not take more away from the natural beings that live in these dune areas and effect the fish in the water
I’d want to ensure that PROPER environmental assessments are made and that these lands won’t be used for stupidly large, inaccessible developments by corporations who could care less about both local people, plants and animals.
The provincial parks should not transfer these lands if they cannot trust the intentions of those who it is going to. Let’s keep Wasaga beach the way it is and why don’t you develop more inland if you want more tourism
