The Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is an integral part of our towns culture, tourism, and environment. The beach houses many endangered species like Piping Plover's whose habitat would be lost should the parks act be amended so that the Town can develop. Residents are upset. Provincial Parks are public lands to be enjoyed by everyone, not to be turned into private development. Tourists do not come to Wasaga Beach because of the businesses, people come for the beach. Should the beach be developed, that wouldn’t help tourism at all and would likely drive people away instead.
