I am opposed to the selling off of land from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. We should not be reducing the amount of protected land and water, we should be increasing it. The only people who benefit from selling part of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park are the developers who are in close connection to the Premier's office. This is a terrible idea. We need to increase protections for endangered species and their habitats, like the Piping Plovers that nest in the Park. The recklessness of Bill 5 is seen here again in this proposal. I urge the government to not sell any Provincial Park land. I urge them to set aside more land as protected from development. I urge them to re-instate scientifically determined designation of endangered species and to increase protection for such.
